Denis Ryan, the director of Ausball in Baltimore, is running an intro to Ausball (the no-contact, co-ed version of Aussie Rules Football) in Baltimore at 2pm on the upper field of Latrobe Park behind Francis Scott Key Elementary.
He will be going over the basics of kicking and handballing, as well as some instruction about how Ausball is played. Check out the Ausball website for more details.
Baltimore Washington Eagles Open Day. All members of the Baltimore-Washington Eagles team, including the men, women, and kids, will be kicking off the start of our season with our first official practice and hopefully a social event afterwards. Open Day will be held at VA Highlands Park in Pentagon
City. Juniors session will be from 9-10:30, and the adults will be from 10:30-12:00.
We will coordinate car pools for anyone interested in making it out.
Karen and Judith will be running a women's only session at South Baltimore CrossFit at 12pm. We are lucky to be able to use this indoor space, so this session will be held rain or shine.
They will be introducing the basics of Aussie Rules, and will also incorporate a CrossFit training session that will be tailored to the game of Aussie Rules. If the weather is nice we may take a walk to a park a few blocks away and do some kicking outside, so bring both running shoes and cleats.

Winter Training Session on February 12th at Latrobe Park in Baltimore from 2-4 pm. Great for beginners - we will teach the basics and introduce everyone to footy! Bring warm clothes and some water, and afterwards we will head to City Limits for dinner and drinks.
Sunday's weather looked to be a repeat of Saturday's: hot and sunny. Four teams made it through the semifinal and two others would battle it out to avoid taking home the wooden spoon. After the first day, it seemed like the two pool winners Calgary/Montreal and New York/Baltimore would be the favorites against the second seeds from the opposite pool.
Despite the forecast of upper 80's and not a cloud to be seen, the morning dew definitely made the ball slick in the opening game. This lead to a scrappy low scoring affair but the more seasoned Calgary/Montreal superclub won comfortably over the inexperienced Hawkaroos from Columbus and Arizona.
