Angels clip Kookas as Haggis gets Irish flavour

The Dublin Angels and the Kilrea Kookaburras flew over to Edinburgh, Scotland, last weekend for what would turn out to be a thrilling Haggis Cup match. This was the first match of the year for both teams and it was heavily anticipated too as it had been almost 7 months since these sides last met. It was another historic day for women’s football in Europe, with the first time the Haggis Cup included a ladies section.

Angels win Haggis Cup 2012!!!!

Last weekend I attended the ARFLI AGM in Dublin. ARFLI hold this meeting every year to discuss high level plans for the year ahead and to elect new members to the board. The morning was spent talking about recruitment and Women's football. We all agreed that the current model of the league needs a bit of work but with no international cup to organize our main focus will be to really push for local team success.
