A Women’s Exhibition Match will be played as a curtain closer to QClash11 at the Gabba this Saturday.
The match will be the sixth of the AFL Women’s Exhibition Series games being played around the country in the lead-up to the introduction of a national AFL women’s competition in 2017.
Saturday’s match will see Queensland’s best female talent from the AFL Queensland Talent Academy on show.
In the expanded AFL Women's Series the first ever Western Derby is being contested between the Fremantle Dockers and the West Coast Eagles from Domain Stadium in Perth, Western Australia.

The 2016 AFL Women's series continues with Sydney and Greater Western Sydney making their debut. USA Freedom Vice Captain and Sacramento Suns player Katie Klatt will be pulling the orange jumper for GWS. Kim Hemenway who plays for New York will be suiting up for Sydney.
The first of the 2016 Female Football Exhibition Series begins as an AFL double header on Sunday March 6. The Victorian Women’s Talent Academy play as Western Bulldogs and Melbourne following the male NAB Challenge match. Commencing at 5.10pm at RAMS Arena Craigieburn the women will be trying to impress recruiters to cement a place in the Victorian teams that will eventually make up the inaugural National Women’s League in 2017. The game will be live streamed on Sunday March 6 at 12:10am US/Central time.
