The Calgary Kookaburras were established in May 2007 as the first women's footy team in Canada. During their inaugural season the club won each domestic tournament they competed in and the bulk of the club represented Canada in the first women's international footy match in Vancouver during August 2007.
The team is coached by the Canadian National coach Jake Anson and is comprised mostly of native Canadian girls from across Alberta. If you are in Western Canada and want to play a fun, fast sport with a great social calendar, join the Kookaburras. Visit their website http://calgary-kookaburras.blogspot.com for more info.
