The Atlanta Lady Kookaburras showed that their win in last year's National Championships was just the start of something big win when they steamrolled the Florida Fusion on Saturday with a record 122 point win. This was the first meeting of the two teams since the Lady Kookas won a close game last October to take the first National Championship title. The Kookaburras continued recruitment during the off season had immediate success with new players Eva McNelis, Christina Murdock and Stephanie Powell all taking a big hand in the game as well as the regulars Jennifer Sarbacker, Judith Stein & Pernille Christensen picking up from where they left off last season.
The final score was Atlanta 21.22.148 defeating Florida Fusion 4.2.26 - a USAFL record 122 point win, highest score and several others records along the way. The Atlanta team's next challenge is their first travel game to Milwaukee Wisconsin on August 12th.
