How Long?:
This is my second year playing footy
Get Started:
My boyfriend, who was just a friend at the time, dragged me down to a park for Sacramento Footy opening day last year. At opening day I learned about the game from these crazy Aussies named Amy and Matt Bishop. It was the first year we had an official club opening day and I was hooked from that point forward.
First Game:
My first real game was at Nationals 2010. I would have to describe it as incredibly exhilarating. Not only was it was my first time playing seriously in a team atmosphere, but also the first time playing a tackle sport. After running track and cross-country for years, I discovered I was able to run must faster when people are chasing me.
Describe Game:
I usually describe footy as a fast-paced, full-contact game on a huge oval field involving aspects of rugby, basketball, and soccer. This is typically followed by an uncomfortable silence as the person sizes me up and finally inquires, "And YOU play this sport?"
