The first women's footy games of the year were held on Saturday with the inaugural 'Duel in the Desert' tournament hosted by the Arizona Lady Hawks. With temperatures expected to rise into the triple digits it was an early start with games starting not long after 8.00am. At the event were the newly formed Denver Lady Bulldogs and the Atlanta Lady Kookaburras as well as the hosts of course the Lady Hawks, runners-up at last years Nationals in Louisville. read more »

The Atlanta Lady Kookaburras won their third successive USAFL National Championship title on Sunday defeating the Arizona Lady Hawks in Louisville Kentucky. The Lady Kookaburras came up against stiff opposition through out the pool games from the Milwaukee Lady Bombers, Arizona Lady Hawks and a combined team from Balt/Washington-Calgary, but were far too good and completed the weekend with their unbeaten run intact. read more »

The 2nd annual USAFL Women's Australian Football National Championships have wrapped up in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2005 champions from Atlanta came out strong and took home the cup again. They cemented their place in history by becoming the first dynasty in women's Football.

The final results were

1. Atlanta Lady Kookaburras
2. Pacific Coast Highway
3. Milwaukee Lady Bombers
4. Arizona Lady Hawks

The Atlanta Lady Kookaburras are not resting on their laurels of winning the 2005 women's championship.  They are preparing to defend their title in  Las Vegas on 7 & 8 by traveling to Sarasota, FL and Milwaukee, WI for road matches.

July 1 - vs Florida @ Sarasota (East vs West curtain raiser)
Aug 12 - vs Milwaukee Explosion @ Milwaukee (MAAFL curtain raiser)

2006 starts off with a new focus on the women's footy program in Milwaukee. The first step in keeping with the new focus has been naming Sandy Bradley as the women's team manager. She is responsible for recruiting women along with other organizational duties. read more »

The Milwaukee Bombers women's team kicked off their first practice in 2005 on Sunday at Kletzsch Park in Milwaukee. The women participated jointly with the men in various kicking and hand passing drills to start off the season. read more »
