The first women's footy games of the year were held on Saturday with the inaugural 'Duel in the Desert' tournament hosted by the Arizona Lady Hawks. With temperatures expected to rise into the triple digits it was an early start with games starting not long after 8.00am. At the event were the newly formed Denver Lady Bulldogs and the Atlanta Lady Kookaburras as well as the hosts of course the Lady Hawks, runners-up at last years Nationals in Louisville. read more »

Lady Kookaburras win third National Championship
October 17th, 2007 | posted by Wayne KraskaThe Atlanta Lady Kookaburras won their third successive USAFL National Championship title on Sunday defeating the Arizona Lady Hawks in Louisville Kentucky. The Lady Kookaburras came up against stiff opposition through out the pool games from the Milwaukee Lady Bombers, Arizona Lady Hawks and a combined team from Balt/Washington-Calgary, but were far too good and completed the weekend with their unbeaten run intact. read more »

This was also the 2nd game of women's footy played in the US. Alot of new faces were on the field, with a strong contingency of ladies coming out of Simi Valley, a good turnout of Gaelic football ladies from Orange County, and two Arizona ladies who drove all the way from Phoenix for their first game of footy! read more »

The game was initated by the Orange County Bombshells who were formed in August after a few of their ladies participated in the metro league,and decided to form a ladies team/league. read more »
