AFL Canada Northern Lights head coach Tristan Waldock has named the squad to compete against the US Freedom at the 49th Parallel Cup in Dublin OH on Aug 4, 2012.
For the first time, the women will be playing two games with a development squad and senior squad each taking the field.

It's been a long dry spell for footy in Ottawa, six years in fact since Aussie Rules kicked off in the nation's capital, each of those seasons without any post-season activity. But it seems it's finally time to let the f word out of the bag: finals. read more »
In the final match of the Boston tournament, each team had two scoring chances but Boston was slightly more accurate to go into half time leading 1.1.7 to New York's 0.2.2. In the second half, Boston was able to keep New York off the score while adding a couple of goals to their total.
In a low scoring game, the Montreal Angels take a 1.0.6 to 0.0.0 halftime lead against the New York Magpies. The Angels continued their defensive dominance to run out winners while holding New York scoreless.
In the first game of the Boston Tournament, the visiting Angels come back from a 3.3.21 to 0.3.3 half time deficit to defeat the home Demons in a nail biter.
"Women In Football" is a short documentary following the story of a local women's football team, trying to be recognised for their passion and love for the game. Shaun Smith, a former Melbourne star pushes the Berwick Hawk's women's club on a journey to finals glory. On the way we find out that there's more to this than just the game.

The USA Freedom held their annual training camp over the weekend of June 15-17 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There was a great turn out by women from all across the USA with many returning players from the 2011 International Cup squad and a number of new faces.
