2009 Freedom Tour

The US Freedom toured Australia from Aug 5-15 2009. We played games in Sydney, Cairns, Bendigo, and Melbourne. Despite the hectic playing schedule, we did plenty of sightseeing and took some photos along the way!

After leaving Sydney the Freedom headed up to Cairns where they played an AFL Cairns team at Cazaly Stadium.

The first stop of the US Freedom 2009 Tour to Australia was Sydney. The freedom attended a Sydney Swans practice and were given a tour of the SCG by Swans coach Paul Roos. The freedom played a match against a SWAFL combined side and toured Sydney Harbour.

The first game of the 2009 US Freedom tour was in Sydney. Fresh of the plane, the Freedom played a SWAFL combined squad at Mahoney Reserve.

The last game of the US Freedom 2009 tour was against a VWFL combined side at Coburg City Oval on Aug 15, 2009.

The 2009 US Freedom Tour to Australia finished with 4 days in Melbourne. The team took in a tour of the MCG, watched an AFL game, played against a VWFL team, and finished it all up with a crazy Mad Monday (on a Saturday) with the Melbourne University MUGARS.

The first leg of the Freedom tour to Australia was match against the Sydney Women's Football League rookies. Action from the day was captured by our Sydney hosts.

Channel 31's Footy Talk Back met the Freedom outside the MCG before the Adelaide vs Hawthorn match. They interviewed a few players and came out to film our final match of the tour against a VWFL combined side.
